Announcing Oprah’s “Favorite Things” 2010: Allure of the Seas

In a recent blog post, I mentioned that if I’m not talking about news it means that something confidential is happening or nothing is happening.  Today, a lot happened!  In fact, it was one of the most wonderful days ever for the Royal Caribbean International brand in terms of public recognition.

We’re thrilled that Royal Caribbean’s Allure of the Seas has been chosen as one of Oprah’s “Favorite Things” for 2010.  In the same 24-hour period, the Today Show’s Hoda and Kathie Lee broadcast live from Allure.

All of this occurred while the movie “Jack and Jill,” starring Adam Sandler and Katie Holmes continued to film onboard.

We hope you had a chance to watch these exciting broadcasts.  We hope you will go see the movie, “Jack and Jill,”  when it is released next year.  And don’t forget about Taylor Swift’s live concert in Allure’s AquaTheater on January 16th.  Stay connected to our Facebook page to keep up with all of the activities and events onboard.

Thank you for the compliment Jafar. What is it that you like about Royal Caribbean the most?

Adam, Wasn’t able to see the broadcast as we were on the Oasis at the time. However it was breathtaking to be able to pass by Allure as we headed out of the bay in Port Everglades. So amazing to see two such beautiful ships together.

    • Adam

We are glad that you had such a great time onboard Oasis of the Seas Jackie. Watching Allure of the Seas pass by must have been quite an extraordinary sight. Thank you for sharing your experience with us.

Hi Adam, WOW!!! everything looks amazing about the Allure of the Seas! It’s going to be my first time to cruise in December. Looking forward to a lot of fun activities. I’m flying from Tokyo and it seems like it’s gonna be a one of a kind experience.

    • Adam

We are thrilled to know that your first cruise in December will be on Allure of the Seas Catherine. Our team worked extremely hard to make sure that Allure of the Seas delivers the WOW, and we know you’ll have a memorable experience. Are there specific activities that you’re looking forward to enjoying?

Hi Adam, I was looking forward to cruising on this ship for my honeymoon coming up in February but unfortunately finances aren’t going to let me this year. :( Oh well, maybe one day! Thanks for building such awesome ships!

    • Adam

Thanks for the compliments on the ships Danny. We hope to see you onboard someday. Until then, take care.

  6. Mona

    Dear Mr. Adam Goldstein,
Recently my family and I landed at an airport near our departure port. Excited for our first Royal Caribbean cruise, we were suddenly approached by an airport staff member and notified that our luggage did not make it on our flight, with further details once they could track it. Meanwhile, we were told to go ahead onto the cruise ship and did so without our bags (which was very worrisome since our bags contained certain necessities). Having never been in this situation, we boarded the ship and spoke with a few Royal Caribbean employees who were very understanding and not only assured us again that everything would be fine, but who were very sincere. They gave us the feeling that we were a top priority; allowing us to finally relax. Later in the night, we found our bags in front of our room door. It was a relief to actually see them-but thanks to the generosity and caring staff of the ship, we had already been able to relax a few hours prior.
The next day, I received a call from a staff member and I let her know that we were extremely happy with all of the customer service we had been receiving. After enjoying the beautiful ship and extremely courteous and kind staff, we returned to our room to find a letter wishing us a wonderful rest of the cruise from staff. For an issue that was purely the airline’s fault, Royal Caribbean was the one comforting and alleviating us. This is just beyond excellent customer service.
I am happy to inform you that we are honestly blown-away by the wonderful customer service we received from every single staff member on the ship-especially the “good mornings” I would receive every day with a smile everday. Of course, a beautiful cruise ship is nice, but what truly allowed us to fall in love with Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd. was the amazingly courteous and caring staff on-board.
I can honestly say with great confidence that this experience has made my family and I customers of Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd. for life. We also make sure to inform all of our friends and family of our wonderful experience, so they too will enjoy the amenities that your spectacular company has to offer.
I thank you for taking the time to read and acknowledge my letter. I look forward to your reply.

    With great appreciation,

    • Adam

Thank you for your many praises Mona. Our commitment to our guest’s satisfaction remains our number one priority, and reassuring feedback is always welcome. Our Royal Caribbean team works extremely hard every day to ensure the WOW experience is enjoyed by all our guests, and we are thrilled to know our efforts allowed you to have such a great experience with us. It is a pleasure having guests like yourself, and we will definitely be looking forward to seeing you onboard again soon.

  7. Jackie

Am so pleased that Mona experienced the “WOW” that Royal Caribbean shows. We have always had excellent service and been shown nothing more than kindness by all of their “family”. More people should show their gratitude to the “RCCL Family”.

    • Adam

Thank you for those kind words, Jackie. Our commitment to our guest’s satisfaction remains our number one priority, and it warms our hearts to hear such compliments. Needless to say, we are thrilled to know our efforts allowed you to have such a great experience with us. We hope to see you onboard again sometime in the near future.

  8. Alan Daron

We had exactly the same experience on board the Mariner of the Seas. Our airline lost our luggage. I was rather excited though as I knew it would get me out of the formal night, which my wife likes formal night and I would rather be at the WindJammer. Unfortunately, the staff on the Mariner gave me a tuxedo and I had to go. What great customer service though. When we arrived in Aruba, the sent peoople from the ship to get out luggage at the airport. We have been on six RCCL cruises and its always been a top shelf experience.

    • Adam

Thanks for sharing your story with us, Alan. We are glad that we could help you out with your tuxedo dilemma (even though it sounds like we may have been too much help) but it’s all part of delivering the WOW. We do hope that you and your wife were able to enjoy the Windjammer afterwards. Thanks again for sharing, and we can’t wait to have you back with us soon.

  9. Kelly

I’ve sailed on the Navigator of the Seas a few times and I’ll be sailing on the Oasis for my honeymoon! I can’t describe how thrilled we are to be going on this trip. We’ve been making reservations at Chops Grille (because my birthday arrives while we’re sailing!) Thank you for making such beautiful, classy, memorable ships. I’ll be a Royal Caribbean Cruiser forever! (and I’m only 23…!)

    • Adam

Congratulations and happy early birthday Kelly! We are excited to have you onboard for your special days and we’ll be sure to deliver the WOW to make them even more memorable. We hope you continue to enjoy our blog and our ships. Happy New Year and we will see you soon.
