Is it true that Royal Caribbean will be giving more of its ships Oasis-class upgrades?
– Jay D.

Yes, this is true, we have been adding our most popular guest experiences to even more Royal Caribbean® ships. Beginning in 2012, we will continue to transform our award-winning fleet to a better version bringing new dining options, entertainment, technology and kid’s programming. As part of our commitment to innovation and providing the best experience for our guests, no ship will go untouched.  Click to find out more: http://bit.ly/agC6Oj

Will Royal Caribbean, individually or collectively with other cruise lines, consider requesting that the Jones Act be amended to permit cruises of US ports only?
 – Ed Tinkertoy

Royal Caribbean International is a member of the Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA), a trade organization that participates in the legislative, regulatory, and policy development process on behalf of 25 major cruise lines.  According to CLIA, a member of the US House of Representatives from Texas has introduced legislation that would authorize cruises by foreign vessels between and among U.S. ports.  The future of this legislation is highly uncertain at this time.

I was wondering which Royal Caribbean ships will be going Southern summer, 2012? Also, will any of these ships be leaving out of San Juan?
– Mary Q. C.

Many thanks for your interest in cruising to the Southern Caribbean.  We will not be offering any cruises to Southern Caribbean for the summer of 2012. However, we will continue to offer a variety of options for the remainder of this year and next winter.

What is the best way to dine on Allure of the Seas if you’re sailing by yourself?
– Karen C. N.

Hi Karen, with so many options, the first decision our guests are faced with is usually, “where do I want to dine?” With 24 dining areas onboard Allure this is a tough decision for anyone. All of our specialty restaurants include smaller tables and our teams welcome guests dining by themselves. If you would like to meet new people while onboard, the main dining room offers the opportunity to be placed at a larger table with other guests.

Is it true that Royal Caribbean is interested in coming to Savannah, Georgia?
– Matt S.

Hi Matt, many thanks for your feedback.  We do not have any current plans to call on Savannah. However, we are constantly reviewing our future itineraries and ports destinations.

When will Royal Caribean begin to offer all inclusive cruises? I would cruise more often if that was an option.

  2. Bonnie Russell

ALLURE is all the hype built her up to be. So loved the time we spent there early this week. So hated that my husbands illness made it necessary to leave at St. Thomas. The ship is more beautiful than you told us and the entertainment is wonderful. So enjoyed the Aqua show and Chicago. My personal KUDOS to Dexter in the Diamond lounge – what a wonderful personality – you should be proud to have him as an employee.

    • Adam

Thank you for all of your praise, Bonnie. We’re happy to hear that you enjoyed our entertainment onboard and hope that your husband is feeling better. We look forward to having you both with us again soon.

  3. nick a

I was wondering if you guys were going to have a contest for a cruise soon.

  4. Roger Stone

Any plans to return to the west coast? You have a lot of Diamond Plus Plus members out here.

  5. Terry Williams

Has Royal Caribbean ever considered doing several west coast coastal cruises like Princess is currently doing? I would love to see this option!

  6. Jackie CONDIE

I can attest that the specialty restaurant teams — heck, all of the dining room staffs — are incredibly accommodating to solo travelers. I had the great pleasure of trying every one of the restaurants on the Oasis last April and was made to feel as special and welcomed as the largest party they had. Everyone, especially the Giovanni’s crew, truly went out of their way to make sure I was well taken care of.

    • Adam

Thank you for your review, Jackie. We are happy to hear that our staff provided you with such exceptional service.

Hi, the 3 night weekend cruises are soo popular from Miami. have you ever considered doing the 3 night cruise to nowhere from NY/NJ during the summer months? I bet they wiould be very very popular. I’d probably be on there every other week. Just a thought!

  8. Jo

Is the grandeur of the seas being refurbished early next year and if so what changes can we expect to see.

  9. Teresa Kline

I’m taking my very first cruise on Royal Caribbean this December. My husband and I have always cruised with NCL and always in a suite. We have a suite on Royal Caribbean also, and I wondered if the ammenities can compare to the ammenities we are use to on NCL? We are sailing out of Baltimore on the Enchantment of the seas.

I have to say I am a bit disappointed in no southern carib cruises for 2012. I am not a fan of cruising in to Mexico with all of the unrest that continues to happen there so a southern was always the optimal choice for us. I wish there were stops to St Croix, aruba, caracoa (sp?), tortola, and some other great destinations on that side of the pond. I think we have all “been there done that” for East/West Carib destinations and a change of scenery and new discoveries are always something I look forward to. I know RCL has their reasonings, but I really would like to see other carib destinations. RCL has the reputation of setting such a high bar, why not consider raising the bar on destinations different from the rest of the pack? Not only a Nation of Why Not, but a Nation of Discoveries!

    Dear Mr. Goldstein
When are you coming back to Los Angeles or San Francisco? We and MANY of our friends miss Royal Caribbean & Celebrity.

When will Explorer of the Seas get a make over?

  13. Charlene Herbert

We spent the week of November 26, 2010 on the OASIS OF THE SEAS. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The food, accommodations, shows were amazing. In fact we enjoyed ourselves so much that we have already booked for February 2012. Can’t wait.!!

    • Adam

We’re happy to hear you had such a great time onboard Oasis of the Seas. We’re confident you will have an equally enjoyable time next February.

  14. Yvette

What type of enhancements will Explorer of the Seas get?? Please tell me you’re adding Flow Rider to the ship.

  15. Elizabeth Linnie

Will RCCL be doing anything special onboard for Allure’s 1st Birthday sailing on 12/4 ?

A Birthday cake perhaps at the Meet & Mingle?

  16. Adam

Thanks to everyone for your questions. Please stay tuned for Adam’s next Ask Adam Answers post to see if your question was selected.
