Recently I received an email from Ryan Loudermilk. Ryan wanted to share a story with me regarding his mother’s stateroom attendant who delivered the WOW onboard Freedom of the Seas. I thought it would be a nice story for our Facebook “Royal WOW of the Week”, where we feature these types of experiences.
If you want to read Ryan’s story, please click here to visit this section of our Facebook page. Of course if you’ve had an experience onboard that shows how we delivered the WOW, please let us know by pressing the “Share Your Story” button.

Taking my 1st Royal cruise in October on the Allure. Tried to book a snorkeling cruise in Cozumel & find I’m TOO OLD! I’m in excellent health, am an excellent swimmer, have snorkeled multiple times in Hawaii, in Florida where I live, and in Cozumel on another cruise line. I am well within the height & weight limits, but because I’m over 70, I can’t snorkel???? Does Royal plan to weigh & measure everyone else who books this trip? I am willing to bet I’m in much better health & am much more active than many who will be on this trip. This is ageism at its worst. I am a VERY TICKED CUSTOMER!
I am very disappointed in RCCL’s age discrimination on a Cozumel excursion. My sister and her husband are taking their 1st Royal cruise with us in October on Akkure. It will be my 8th Royal cruise. I booked a snorkel excursion thinking that my sister and brother-in-law who are experienced snorkelers, in excellent health, would accompany us. Now we find that they are refused because of thei age. We contacted Royal and were given the name of Wilderness and Wildlife tours to take this matter up with. We now find that this is a Royal group. I cannot believe that they would be discriminated against in this way and I am very angry that this has happened. It seems that an arbitrary age of 70 was set. The excursion is a double reef, beach break tour.,CZB4……
Thank you,
Barbara Muckle
I am sorry to say I have had a really bad experience this weekend trying to book my cruise as a result of the booking office giving my travel agent the wrong information I have had to pay an additional £200 for my cruise as the price went up from Friday to Monday and have also spent from 11 am in and out of the agent up to 5.45 this evening sorting it out and at last it is now booked. The price magically went up in half an hour this afternoon but I was not prepared to budge on the price (with the increase of £200) because it would have meant not going as it was a struggle to pay the first increase having to pay for 4 adults as it was and I still have car parking to pay at Southampton.
Having traveled with Royal Caribbean over 7 times before this is my worst experience of booking, it was not the travel agents fault. I would also say that your sales team were not very pleasant when the phone was passed to me to try and sort the problem. I pre booked on my last cruise and there was a discrepancy with regards the booking which still has not been sorted as yet. So I have now booked without using this.
I am sorry to have to complain I hope this wont be an omen for my holiday and have a bad experience on the cruise especially with regards to customer service and standards.

I wold like to recognize Natasha Abner as the warmest hostess at the Cruise that I was on with my family. She welcomed us with Chocolate covered strawberries , previously she assured me that we would have a very nice time on the cruise and we did. Also, all of the staff on the ship treated us as Royalty.
Thanks for the unforgettable experience.
Maria Navarrete.
