Thanks to your feedback, our Crown & Anchor program is now even better

Guest Blog by Cecilia Sanguinetti, Associate Vice President One to One Marketing

Hello everyone. I joined Royal Caribbean International eight months ago to head One to One Marketing and the Crown & Anchor Society loyalty program.

In my short time here, the Loyalty Team, consisting of Lauren, Randy, Sonia, Sylvia and myself, have already heard great ideas from our Crown & Anchor Society members about how to improve our program and make it even more exciting.  Today we are very happy to announce that one of those ideas has come to life.  We are offering additional points for Crown & Anchor Society members that sail with our Single fare price rate in double occupancy staterooms.  This means that if you sail by yourself on a 7-night Caribbean cruise, you’ll receive 14 cruise points instead of 7.  If you sail by yourself in a suite, you’ll not only receive the double cruise points, but also the additional cruise point per night, which could equate to earning 21 points on a 7 night cruise.  This policy was implemented on all sailings that departed on or after October 4, 2013.

On a different topic, I’d like to update you all on enhancements to an important benefit: the complimentary stateroom upgrades.  Let me caveat that complimentary upgrades are rare, since we normally have a very small number of staterooms that become available the week prior to sailing.  Needless to say it is nonetheless a nice perk for those guests who benefit from it. Our onboard and on shore teams have been working to automate the complementary upgrade process in order to make it simpler and more efficient.  Effective November 11, 2013, booked guests must register their upgrade preferences on our website if they want to be considered for a stateroom upgrade, as we will no longer be calling guests to offer upgrades.  As always, our, Pinnacle Club and Diamond Plus Crown & Anchor members will be the first to be offered a complimentary upgrade.

If you want to be considered for a possible stateroom upgrade, please sign into the Crown & Anchor secured
section of RoyalCaribbean.com
and select your upgrade preferences, because we will only consider processing complimentary upgrades for members whose preferences have been registered on our website.  Remember, in order to guarantee your desired stateroom type, please reserve the stateroom of choice when you book your cruise, as upgrades are very rare.

I want to thank all of our Crown & Anchor members for their continued loyalty.  Please continue to share your great ideas by entering them in the comment section below, on our Facebook page or by emailing us at CrownAndAnchor@rccl.com.  We take our member’s comments very seriously.

For those of you that are joining us on the upcoming member cruise, I look forward to seeing you onboard!

Thank you so much for implementing the single double points for C&A members. I have cruised with RCI as a single for the past ten years and have paid the double occupancy fee. I’ve asked a few times if this would ever be an option and was always told no, glad to see it happen. After my cruise in October 2014, I will be one day away from Diamond status. Unless you want to throw that day in for good measure? : )

Why did you do away with the Diamond Celibration for Diamond members?

I would like to see Royal’s and Celebrity’s loyalty system merged so we could earn points for sailing on either cruise line. We love royal Caribbean but would like to expand our cruise options and still earn points.
