Traveling the world by sea, Royal Caribbean crew members have great gigs, and Cassandra Aragón just landed one of our newest and most coveted roles—Traveling Content Creator, arguably the best job at sea. The position will see Cassandra travel the globe for the next six months on nine different ships. She’ll have one mission: to explore, seek out unique experiences awaiting at each destination, and capture every moment to share with adventure seekers and Royal Caribbean fans around the world!

So how did she score this amazing opportunity? We put out a call to our Crew Ambassadors, to see who could tell the best stories and capture the essence of different locales through their photography. Cassandra was the winner—which is saying quite a bit; she had steep competition from an acrobat, dancer, DJ, a youth staff member and a shore excursions staff member, all talented shutterbugs in their own right!

Here’s more about Cassandra and her story and a look at some of the most breathtaking moments through her camera lens:

Meet Cassandra Aragón

Cassandra is 26 years old and hails from Mexico. She started her journey with Royal Caribbean in May of 2016 on board Anthem of the Seas, where she worked as a Zumba instructor and Latin dancer. She suffered a knee injury, which forced her to take a 10-month hiatus—a rough setback for such an active person—but now she’s back in action and thrilled to be at sea and traveling 24/7.

Currently on board Symphony of the Seas–the world’s largest cruise ship–in Europe and part of the Cruise Director’s team, Cassandra has been living out one of her passions as a dancer. Come November, she will switch full-time to her new role as the first Traveling Content Creator.

And now for the winning shots:

A view of Symphony’s Central Park with more than 30,000 live plants in the middle of the ship.

A twisted look at the winding waterslides of The Perfect Storm.

Where To Next?

So now that she’s landed her new gig, Cassandra is preparing to set sail around the Caribbean starting in November, where she’ll kick off her stint on familiar ground–on board Symphony. Keep an eye out as she heads to some of the most desirable pieces of paradise like Roatán, Honduras, home to the world’s second largest barrier reef; samples the authentic flavors of Costa Maya, Mexico and enjoys the culture, history (and rum!) of Nassau, Bahamas.

In 2019, she’ll chart the course for Southeast Asia on board Voyager of the Seas, and visit far-flung places like Bangkok and Phuket, Thailand; Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and Singapore.

Cassandra’s explorations will then take her down under to Sydney, Australia on board Ovation of the Seas, with visits around New Zealand–from Auckland to Wellington. Then on to Explorer of the Seas, where she’ll sail from Sydney again, but head to the sparkling white beaches of Suva and the tree-lined colonial homes of Lautoka, Fiji.
