More Thoughts to Share From My Recent Trip to Asia

I hope you enjoyed reading my blog entry from yesterday along with some of the video footage I captured during my recent trip to Asia. Although the primary purpose of my travel was business-related, I made it my priority to document the highlights of my trip so I could share the beauty and exciting sights with my readers. I hope that my travels to Singapore, Shanghai, Beijing and Japan have inspired you. Here are two more video clips from my stay in Shanghai, China.

For those of you who have sailed with us in Asia, which city offered you the most unique cultural experience?

    My husband and I went on our first cruise that he needed an electric scooter. The ship was handicapp friendly but there were no shore excursions set up for people in wheelchairs or scooters. I was very surprised. I couldnt believe RCCL did not have anything set up for this. Even if it were a special van to take wheelchairs and scooters into town for a fee. This would not be something hard for the ship to set up and passengers can sign up at the shore excursion desk. I dont think a person should feel stuck on ship in port. This would add so much for people to be able to see the ports.

    I really like these video blogs. Especially the top one where you’re narrating what we’re seeing. I just wish the volume was louder. You come across a bit faint.

    And how about taking us on a video tour of places? A lot of video blogs do that. How about showing us your office? Or taking us on a CEO tour of one of your ships. It would also be very interesting if you’d set up your camera for when an architect pitches a ship design to you. a marketing firm pitches an ad campaign, fashion designer showing you the costumes that will be on a ship’s stage, or such.

    By the way, a couple weeks ago, I saw you on a cable TV network. I meant to mention it earlier. It was either the Travel Channel, National Geographic or Discovery. It was about the cruise ship that is like two buildings facing each other. A big opening between the two sides of the ship. Anyway, you weren’t CEO then but I did recognize you on the show. You looked WAY too serious. :-) I was expecting any moment during the show to see you either jogging around the ship or playing ping-pong. *laugh*

    Just want to share an experience I had with a member of your team. Her name is Christina Vasquez and she listen and tried every thing possible to assit me with a number of issues I am having and I must say Royal Caribbean had nothing to do with these issues.     I have a Royal Carribbean credit card. My wife and I enjoy travel on both RCL and Celebrity. It would be wonderful if the points would work for either cruise line.
    We are Diamond level on RCL and Elite on Celebrity.

    If these two are sister companies, why can’t the points be used on either?

    I’m sure everyone at Royal Caribbean is quite busy with Oasis in her inaugural year and Allure soon to debut. I was just wondering when we might be expected to hear more “buzz” about Allure. My family and I weren’t able to sail Oasis’ inaugural as intended due to the recent birth of our first daughter, Kelly, but we’re excited to be taking her on her first cruise on Allure’s maiden voyage, which will also be our first sailing as Diamond C&A members. Does Royal Caribbean have anything special planned for Allure’s inaugural? What types of changes/differences can we look forward to between the two ships?

    Great Blog entry!  I have a comment and a quick question.  We just returned from the Oasis and had the joy of using the concierge lounge since we are D+ members. All I can say is Wow!  This was the highlight of our cruise experience on the Oasis and we have planned many more trips on the Oasis, Allure, Freedom, and Navigator because of the service in the concierge lounge.  However, we ran into a couple who had a gazillion cruises with RCL and they kept saying we better enjoy the CL while we still have it because it will only be for ultra frequent cruisers in the near future.

    Now, I usually don’t get pulled into rumors, but I took great offense to this. Others did as well. As we all discussed, the beauty of sailing on RCL is the service, attention, and overall cruise experience we receive when sailing on a ship that has a concierge lounge. The ability to mingle and enjoy chocolate covered strawberries with a glass of wine cannot be found anywhere except on RCL. Thus, many of us plan to sail on certain ships and itineraries so we can have this wonderful experience. Not only does it keep us loyal, but as many of us agreed, it really makes us believe RCL values our business, which in todays world, is a rare feeling to encounter.

    I wanted to pass along my thanks to you for maintaining this benefit for Diamond Plus and Suite Guests, as I truly do believe you have something in the concierge lounge that lures loyal Diamond Plus members back time and time again to the wonderful world of Royal Caribbean.  I hope you consider keeping this benefit for Diamond Plus members in any future changes you make to the Crown and Anchor Society.

    Now for my question – I’ve read on your website that more exciting changes are coming to the Crown and Anchor Society.  Can you give us a timeframe when we should be expecting these changes?

    All of the tours(FC23) to the Normandy Braches on the Sept. 4th sailing on the Jewel are sold out. Many passengers were not aware how popular tourthis is. Can you inquire and see if any more tours could be added to accomodate us. We always use RCL tours because of their reliability. We do not want to be forced to use an outside tour company. Can you help us, thanks!
