Seems like everybody’s got an opinion when it comes to packing the perfect carry-on. That’s why we’re taking a peek inside the carry-ons of some of our favorite bloggers to see how they hack it. Read on for great packing tips!
Packer: Nicholl Vincent of style blog The Chiffon Diary. You might know her from the swoon-worthy outfits she posts on Instagram. When Nicholl isn’t blogging about style and beauty, she’s jetting off to Dubai or setting sail on her first-ever Royal Caribbean cruise. Her view of the Allure of the Seas? “Blew my mind in more ways than I could explain.”
Suitcase: Tommy Bahama.
Plan: “I plan my outfits around one major color so that all my accessories can be interchanged. Stick to solids — patterns can be trickier to consolidate.”
Essentials: “A swimsuit (my favorites are the ones by Luli Mama (1), a Colombian swimsuit designer), sunglasses (I like the Stryder style by Raen (3) right now) and yoga pants, plus black skinny jeans, a white blouse and red lipstick — try Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick in Beso (7) — it really does stay ALL day.”
Shoes: “One pair of black heels, tan sandals and tennis shoes. These three pairs will carry you through on most trips. For the heels, I pack Valentino studded heels (6) because they made a statement but are still comfortable.”
Bonus Item: “I love hats — they are essential! So I stuff the head of the hat with clothes, then pack them facing up at the very bottom of the suitcase. Then I pack around each hat, ensuring that they’ll keep their form. Works like a charm! My favorite hat right now is the Montana by Lack of Color. (4) Love the wide brim!”
One Last Thing: “I always throw a light dress (2) or something versatile and small like that in my purse. (5) That way if something happens to my bag, I’ve got a back-up.”
We’ll be keeping that hat-packing tip in mind the next time we take off on a Caribbean getaway! No matter where you’re headed on your next trip, remember that whatever you pack should speak to your personal style, and that packing the perfect carry-on might take a few tries to get just right. But armed with a few choice tips, you’ll be able to get there — in style!
