Check-in Faster (Alaska)
Q:  Why was this program initiated in Vancouver?
A:  Vancouver is a special port in that guests are subject to processing by both Canadian and US regulatory agencies. Prior to this program, guests landing in Vancouver would have to proceed through Canadian Immigration and Customs at the airport. They would also have to be processed by US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) for pre-clearance into Alaska before check-in at the pier.

The result – long queues and processing times of two hours or more for guests and a negative impact on the pier experience.
