Typically, one's instinct would be to run from a volcanic eruption. In this case, however, that would be a mistake. Romantic and mysterious, Kilauea is both one of the most spectacular and most active volcanoes in the world. Since 1998, the island has grown 560 acres, leading some to marvel at its ability to create rather than destroy. Never contestable is its beauty.
