The One Thing You Don't Want To Miss

The magic of Prince Edward Island was so inspirational for the famous author L.M. Montgomery that she chose it as the setting for her much-loved novel, Anne of Green Gables. Today you can let the pages spring to life as you explore the Green Gables house, Haunted Wood and Balsam Hollow that set the stage for this world-renowned classic tale in what locals refer to as “Anne's land.”

Sporting Adventures

Beaches abound on this tiny atoll. As a matter-of-fact, they say that no matter where you are on the island you're never more than 15 minutes away. Some are hopping. Some are virtually deserted. Some are warm enough to swim in. And one even has “singing sands.” Take an ocean kayak adventure, go fishing and explore the island's spectacular sea (you may even spot a seal or two). And if you're looking for another great way to get your adrenaline up, two-wheel it! There's no better way to take in all this spectacular scenery than on a bike and there are plenty of paths to pick from. The Confederation Trail covers most of the island - about 200 miles - if your legs are up for it!

Local Flavors

Have you ever tried Malpeque oysters or Island Blue Mussels? Here's your chance! As you can imagine, the seafood is mouthwatering and lobster is a local favorite. So break out the butter and a bib. And in case you didn't know, Prince Edward Island is famous for its potatoes, so make sure to sample some and see what all the buzz is about.
