Get A Taste Of Local Flavor

Sapporo is famous for hairy crab, an expensive treat available at any seafood restaurant, and miso ramen, a more affordable local variation of the ubiquitous noodle dish with miso paste added to the stock. The ramen in particular will warm you up nicely on a chilly winter day. Sapporo soup curry, liquid curry prepared with vegetables and chicken is also increasingly famous and found in plenty of local restaurants.

Local Currency

The yen is the official currency of Japan. Many stores and restaurants also accept major credit cards, which usually offer you a good exchange rate. There is no limit on the amount of any currency that may be brought into or taken out of Japan. However, if you transport (any currencies, checks, securities or other monies) exceeding 1,000,000 yen worth in Japanese currency into or out of the country, then you must complete a customs declaration.
