The tour involves 8 miles of cycling over mostly level terrain with a couple of small uphill sections. Or opt for the Kilauea Lava Viewing Hike, where you can view volcanic formations and hike out to a volcanic crater. The 3-mile roundtrip hike crosses pahoehoe lava, meanders through forests of lava trees and passes steaming fissures where lava once fountained hundreds of feet skyward.

Hawaii produces most of the world's macadamia nuts. Here on Hawaii, you'll find the Mauna Loa Macadamia Nut Visitor's Center, where you can learn about the process of harvesting these delicious nuts, and even sample some of the crop.
