Time permitting, take a car ferry over to Bellagio, labeled the pearl of the lake and ranked as one of the most beautiful towns in Europe. The town is home to narrow cobbled streets, immaculate homes and stupendous villas. Attractions not to be missed are the 18th- and 19th-century villas, Villa Serbelloni, Villa Melzi and the 12th-century Romanesque cathedral dedicated to Saint Giacomo.

• Visit Laglio - Explore the neighboring woods and the "Bear's Cave" ("buco dell'orso") where the bones of bears were found along with other remains dating back to prehistoric times, many of which are on display in the town hall.
• Visit Moltrasio - Wealthy villas, Villa Passalacqua, Villa Pasola, Villa Erker Hocevar and Villa Ghisio recall the fondness of noble families for places such as Moltrasio, where they built their summer residences.
• Visit Briennio - Described as a typical medieval hamlet, the town of Brienno retains much of the atmosphere and look of the period. Explore the church of Saints Nazaro and Celso and its incredible view of the lake, or the church of Saint Anna, one of the oldest churches in the Romanesque style.
• Visit Baradello - A short drive from Como, Baradellow is another town that pays homage to the medieval times with its 12th century castle standing on top of the hills, surround by fortified walls and the annual jousting contest.
