Royal Caribbean International Continues Travel Agent Appreciation Efforts With New Programs to Help Travle Agents Drive Business
MIAMI, Dec. 5, 2006 - Royal Caribbean International unveils new offerings as part of the cruise brand's continued Travel Agent Appreciation initiatives. The new programs include: additional flexibility for cruisers wanting to lock in their next great adventure while onboard and for the travel agents helping them through the planning process; an extra bonus on gift certificates purchased during the month of December; and special rates for those serving in the armed forces, which can now be applied by all travel agents nationwide.
"We continue to get valuable feedback and suggestions from our Travel Advisory Board and travel agent partners," said Lisa Bauer, senior vice president, Sales for Royal Caribbean International. "The new programs demonstrate our continued ETDBW (Easy To Do Business With) sales efforts and we are thrilled that we are able to introduce them to our travel partners."
Enhancements to Future Booking Onboard Program
For the cruise line's loyal cruisers, Royal Caribbean has devised the NextCruise option to ease the planning of a guest's next cruise. The new program allows vacationers enjoying a Royal Caribbean cruise to book their next cruise vacation without having to commit to a specific date or itinerary. By paying a nominal, non-refundable deposit, guests are eligible to receive an onboard credit to use on their next cruise. Royal Caribbean will notify the guest's travel agent when a NextCruise booking has been made and once the guest has decided on a sail date and ship, they can work with their preferred travel partner to process the booking. Deposits have no expiration and travel agents will receive full commission and revenue credit for the reservation.
An additional enhancement to the future booking onboard program enables guests booking a future cruise while onboard a ship to retain their onboard credit for their next cruise vacation even if their travel agent applies their FIT reservation toward a group booking. Travel agents will be able to apply relevant group amenities to these guests.
Bonus on Holiday Gift Certificates
In this season of gift-giving, Royal Caribbean introduces a holiday promotion sure to delight any special recipient. Throughout the month of December, when a Royal Caribbean gift certificate ($250 or higher) is purchased, and the recipient uses the certificate toward a cruise vacation taken before April 15, 2007, the recipient will also receive an additional bonus onboard credit of $25 as a holiday gift from Royal Caribbean International. The bonus offer applies to new reservations only. Gift certificates in various denominations up to $3,000 may be purchased and/or redeemed by visiting www.royalcaribbean.com/giftcertificates or calling 1-800-722-5970.
Military Rate Program Extended
Royal Caribbean has extended its Military Rate program giving all travel agents nationwide the ability to grant reduced rates to service men and women. Travel partners need only confirm active duty or retirement (after a minimum of two years of service or due to medical reasons) and special rates will be administered on many select sailings throughout the year.
