Cassis - TU02

"Who has seen Paris and not Cassis has seen nothing". Even if this saying by French poet Frédéric Mistral seems exaggerated, it nevertheless reflects the interest of this little seaside resort nestling at the foot of the impressive Cape Canaille cliff.

"Who has seen Paris and not Cassis has seen nothing". Even if this saying by French poet Frederic Mistral seems exaggerated, it nevertheless reflects the interest of this little seaside resort nestling at the foot of the impressive Cape Canaille cliff. A former Roman trading post, Cassis is very charming with its quays lined by cafes and restaurants, its jagged coves, its natural beaches and its old town. Many visitors come to see the Calanques, stroll around the harbour.

The steep road climbs up to Cape Canaille, and then zigzags along the edge of Soubeyran cliffs (394m) European highest maritime cliff. The drive to Cap Canaille is depending on weather conditions. This stop can be closed due to strong winds and rain.

Note: In Cassis, there is approximately .75 of miles walking over uneven surfaces with 10-15 steps and slights inclines. The village of Cassis is pedestrian only. At Cap Canaille, walking is at the guest's discretion. Surfaces are unpaved dirt and gravel.
