Tour Helsinki's main highlights and visit one of the largest Ice Bars in the world! Begins with a photo stop at Senate Square with the elegant Lutheran Cathedral. Continuing approximately 20 minute ride east from downtown to the ice bar. On arrival you will be given proper clothing to keep you warm. Enjoy ice cold vodka from your glass made of ice! Afterwards,begin your journey towards the downtown area. Drive along Mannerheim Street, which is the main city street, where you can see the the Opera House, Parliament House, the National Museum and Finlandia Hall, and Contemporary Art museum. Finally, you will make a stop inside of the unique Temppeliaukio Rock Church blasted into solid rock.
This tour consists of the main Helsinki highlights and a visit to one of the largest Ice Bars in the world! You start by passing the embassy park and bustling city harbor before stopping for a photo opportunity at Senate Square with the elegant Lutheran Cathedral. En route you will pass the Uspenski Cathedral and the icebreakers docked for the summer season.
Continue your journey with an approximate 20 minute ride East wards from down town to one of the largest ice bars in the world. Upon arrival you will be given proper clothing to wear so you will stay warm. You will enter a winter wonderland of snow and ice around you. All this has been constructed in this large hall like structure with an Ice Bar and Igloo Hotel in the centre. You will be served an ice cold drink of vodka from your ice cold glass - made of ice. After your cooling drink you will have some time to browse around.
You will find different winter activities you can try out should you wish, such as tobogganing, snow shoeing, kick sledging etc. For an additional fee you can even enjoy a fun Husky Ride.
After this ice cold experience you will begin your drive back to to down town Helsinki. Drive along Mannerheim Street, which is the main street through the city, where you can see the the Opera House, Parliament House, the National Museum and Finlandia Hall, which is our concert and convention center designed by the famous architect Alvar Aalto. You will also pass the new Contemporary Art museum, Kiasma, designed by the American architect Steven Holl.
Finally you will make a stop to visit the inside of the unique Temppeliaukio Rock Church blasted into solid rock.
Note: Order of tour may vary. Warm clothing provided for guests. Visit includes one ice cool drink. No minimum age to participate however guests must be 18 and present ID to drink alcohol. Underage guests will be served non alcoholic beverage. Unfortunately, additional drinks are not available for purchase. In the event of a special function being held at the Rock Church, the inside visit will not be possible. This is beyond the control of the tour operator and Royal Caribbean International.
