South Atlantic Panoramic Drive - RO88
Discover a unique experience driving along Dominica's South west coast line to the most southern tip of the Island. You will have a scenic drive through the fishing villages of Soufriere and Scotts Head and visit one of the island's oldest Catholic Cathedrals.
Driving along Dominica’s coast line to the southern tip of the Island, an opportunity arises to walk between the Caribbean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean.
The Caribbean side is normally calm except during the hurricane season, you will have an opportunity of wetting your feet or swimming in the blue waters near the quaint fishing village of Scotts Head, named after a British Engineer in the 18th century Captain Thomas Scott. View the catch of the day being brought ashore by the local fishermen.
The Atlantic side, is normally rough. On a bright day you will get a view of the neighboring French island of Martinique.
The return journey will take you to the Soufriere Catholic Church which is over 200 years old. In the yard of the Church, is part of the shore of the Caribbean Sea, you will get an chance to experience the naturally warm sulphur water, before having refreshmnets at Rodney's Wellness Retreat. You then return bck to your ship.
