Full Description: Jaimaca Swamp Safari Village earned notoriety as the crocodile farm featured in the 1972 James Bond film “Live and Let Die” where Agent 007 cheated death by leaping on the backs of crocodiles to escape from Mr. Big’s henchmen.
Just a 10 minute drive from the Falmouth cruise ship pier, The Safari is home to over 200 of the endangered American Crocodile, including monster crocs ‘Sammy B’ and ‘Jeremiah’, the two largest captive held crocodiles in Jamaica. View crocodiles from hatchlings to juveniles to adults, and watch as our experienced handlers call crocodiles and demonstrate their immense power as they leap out of the water to take meat from a pole. Stroll into Jamaica’s largest walk-thru Aviary and view various species of very rare Jamaican birds. Be adventurous and take a picture holding a baby crocodile and Jamaican Boa Constrictor or feed our adorable baby white tail deer. Take a guided tour and meet the many animals of the America’s on show including the once thought extinct Jamaica Coney.
As you venture through the safari, our guides will reveal the secrets of how the crocodile farm came to be the location for the movie. Learn about the farm’s charismatic founder Ross Kananga who actually performed the daring movie stunt, ranked # 7 out of the 50 most exciting James Bond scenes of all time. Partake in local cuisine at the Safari Jerk Restaurant, sip a cool Red Stripe Beer at the Village Bar or browse through Kananga House that was built as part of the movie set and now houses the safari’s Gift Shop. Food and drink is optional and at an additional expense. This attraction is equipped to accommodate guests with wheelchairs.
