OVERVIEW: This tour combines some of Florence's treasured highlights with free time to explore and shop on your own.
HIGHLIGHTS: Stroll the Piazza del Duomo with the cathedral, bell tower and baptistery and see Ghiberti's "Gates of Paradise." In the Piazza della Signoria, you'll see a copy of Michelangelo's "David." See the exterior of the Church of Santa Croce. You'll have approximately 3 hours of free time to explore and shop at your own pace.
NOTES: Guests must be able to walk approximately 2 miles over even and cobblestone streets with some steps and extended periods of standing and waiting. An escort will accompany the coach to/from Florence to answer questions.
This tour combines some of Florence’s treasured highlights, including the Piazza del Duomo, Piazza della Signoria and Church of Santa Croce, with free time to explore and shop on your own.
-Piazza del Duomo: View one of the longest cathedrals in the world, along with the bell tower and baptistery.
-Piazza della Signoria: See a copy of Michelangelo’s David in the Florence city center.
-Church of Santa Croce: View the exteriors of the church where Italian monarchs are buried.
-Free time: Enjoy approximately 3 hours of free time to explore independently
This tour is designed for those who would like a limited guided tour with free time to explore Florence at their leisure. Upon arrival in Florence, you'll begin a 2.5 hour guided walking tour. You’ll see the Piazza del Duomo (Cathedral Square) with its cathedral, bell tower and baptistery. The baptistery is home to Ghiberti's “Gates of Paradise”. Your next stop will be the Piazza della Signoria, the city's largest square. Here you will see a copy of Michelangelo's “David” and the Loggia dei Lanzi. You’ll also see the exterior of the Church of Santa Croce, known as Italy's Westminster Abbey for the Italian monarchy buried there.
After your guided tour, you will be able to explore at your own pace for approximately 3 hours. You’ll have plenty of time for lunch at your own expense and to explore Florence. The guide will advise you of the time to meet again and board the coach for your return trip to the ship.
What to Bring:
-You should always take your SeaPass card (provided onboard ship) and photo identification when in port
-You will need Euros and/or credit cards for any purchases (foreign currencies are not accepted).
What to Wear:
-Hats, sunscreen and other forms of sun protection are highly recommended.
-Comfortable walking shoes are recommended.

-If guests should miss the return coach, transportation back to the vessel is their own responsibility and at their own expense.
-The Church of Santa Croce is closed on Sundays, during special events and mass services.
-The tour sequence may be altered to avoid congestion, but always covering the mentioned sites.
-An escort will accompany the coach to/from Florence to answer questions and a licensed guide will be met in Florence
