After a short guided walking tour of its old streets you'll get some free time for browsing in the local art and craft workshops of the town.
The charming resort of Sanary-sur-Mer, all pink and white, is popular at every season. It started attracting a large number of non-French artists at the turn of the century, and reached its popularity zenith in the 30s with many exiled German artists seeking refuge in France (Thomas & Heinrich Mann, Stefan Zweig,..).
You will enjoy strolling through this peaceful little town and smart port bordered by palm-trees, before adventuring in the pedestrian streets full of shops. Settled on a top wooded hill above the now famous vineyards of Bandol, the medieval village of Le Castellet is a remarkable stronghold with well preserved ramparts offering an attractive view inland towards Ste-Baume.
