Begin your half-day journey northbound from Vigo toward the Rande Strait, passing Pontevedra as your guide points out the history of the region and the highlights of the "Ria de Vigo". Upon arrival to Cambados, visit the natural village in the heart of Albariño wine country with its wide variety of manor and stately homes along narrow streets and squares. Cambados is known worldwide as the capital of Albariño wine. Everything there revolves around the prestigious Galician white wine, and it is the central point in a tour of 21 active wineries with the D.O. Rías Baixas (Denomination of Origin) designation.
Reboard the coach and continue to the cellars for a visit and a wine and cheese tasting. The Agro de Bazan Winery produces high quality wines exclusively with the Albarino grape, an aromatic, long-standing grape native to the Salnes Valley. Notably, Albariño grapes develop thick skins here, contributing to their intense aromas, often described as scented of almonds, apples, peaches, citrus, flowers, or grass. At the conclusion of the winery tour, rejoin your coach, relax and enjoy the scenery on your return ride to the ship.
