Full Description:
Begin your journey with a ride along the beautiful Riviera of the Seven Castles toward the charming town of Trogir. Situated on a tiny island, Trogir is connected by a bridge to the mainland and a bridge to the larger island of Ciovo. Except for the green parks,  the island is occupied by spectacular constructions of stone houses, palaces, churches, monasteries, walls, and towers. The streets are narrow and  reminiscent of how life might have been in the old days. According to UNESCO, “Trogir is a precious, a consistent part of world heritage. But don’t look just for stone. Look for the mysterious spirit in stone. Look for all those architects, builders, artists, patrons, for all those stories hidden in the history of stone”.  Trogir is known as a ‘monument town’.  Follow your guide to visit some of the most famous sites including the Cathedral of St. Lawrence, the Kamerlengo Fortress, the Town Gate, the Cipiko Palace, the Town Hall, the Church of St Nicholas, a museum, a picture gallery, and the ‘Kairos’ art collection.

Proceed with your guide to the main attraction in Trogir, the Cathedral of St. Lawrence. This 13th century building is the finest example of sacral architecture in Croatia. The unusual construction with three naves and three semi circular apses dominates the  town. The main portal carved by the local artist “Radovan” in the 13th century is world famous. Continue past the Town Loggia, the Town Hall and the Cipiko Palace before enjoying free time for shopping or independent exploration.  At the designated time and place, rejoin your guide and coach for a scenic ride to the Pantan Old Mill.

After its neglect for many years, its recent renovations have placed it in the Registry of Architectural Heritage in Croatia. Savor its local specialties including smoked ham, cheese and olives while singers serenade guests with local Dalmatian songs. After recharging your senses at the Old Mill, rejoin your coach for the return ride to the town of Split.

Split is the product of 17 centuries of building, renovating and remodeling, meshing the Split of yesterday with the Split of today.  At the core of this sprawling cityscape is the spectacular Roman Palace erected by the Roman Emperor Diocletian, for his golden years at the turn of the 4th century. What began as a fortified camp and  imperial residence became a maze of narrow cobblestone streets, inhabited by pre-Romanesque churches alongside Gothic chapels, history-filled museums next to galleries of contemporary art while aromatic  restaurants compete with bustling cafes for the attention of passers-by. Follow your guide on a walking tour introducing the rich cultural heritage of Diocletian's Palace, a proclaimed UNESCO World Heritage Site. View the Golden & Silver Gates, the cathedral and the Peristyle Square among other well-preserved relics. At the conclusion of the palace tour, your guide will lead you to the pier for return to the ship. Guests may choose to stay in town and return to the ship independently  and at their own expense.
