Overview
Leaving the harbor of Argostoli, we head south to Agios Andreas Monastery. Nowadays it houses the monastery's holiest relic, supposedly the foot of the Apostle Andrew. Leaving the museum we head north -west to subterranean Melissani Cave-Lake. Your tour will continue to the fishing village of Ag. Efthimia for independent exploration before you will return back to port.

Full Description
Kefallonia Island is one of the most popular destinations of the Ionian Islands and the biggest island of the group. Leaving the harbor of Argostoli, we head south to Agios Andreas Monastery. The Monastery was built during the 13th century and was renovated in 1639. Nowadays it houses the monastery's holiest relic, supposedly the foot of the Apostle Andrew. Leaving the museum we head north -west to subterranean Melissani Cave-Lake where part of its limestone ceiling has collapsed creating a haunting place with deep blue water. Your tour will continue to the fishing village of Ag. Efthimia for independent exploration before you will return back to port.

What to Bring: 
- You should always take your Sea Pass card (provided onboard the ship) and photo identification when in port
- Camera and cash for shopping (Euro and /or Credit cards are accepted in most of the shops).
 
What to Wear: 
- Strongly recommend wearing light clothing and comfortable walking shoes. Hat and sunscreen.

Special Notes:
- Queue and waiting time might occur at Melissani Cave. The visit lasts 10 mins. The capacity of the wooden boat is max 10 – 12 guests per time. 
- Conservative dress code required for the visit of  the Agios Andreas Monastery.
- Uphill/down hill, slippery terrain and some steps throughout the tour 
- Very slippery surface at Melissani Cave.
