Full Description:
After a 10-minute transfer from the ship to the city center, you will board a motorboat for a cruise along the Livorno channels that cover centuries of Livorno's history. You’ll cruise through the most colorful district named "New Venice" which is a labyrinth of canals, waterways and bridges encompassing sights that include New Fortress, Republic Square, Santa Caterina Church, Cavour Square and the Fisherman Harbor.
At the end of your boat ride, your guide will lead you to the biggest square in the city, Piazza della Republica. This name was given after Italy became a republic in 1946, but previously, it was known as "Voltone," which means "big vault." Its peculiarity is that the square is also a huge bridge, making it the largest in Europe. After a short walk from Republic Square, you will have free time to explore the Old Market, also known as the Provisions Market. The market takes place inside one of the most interesting buildings in the city that is an example of the XIX century iron and glass architecture. It was built in 1896 by the architect Badaloni who was inspired by the old market in Florence for the use of iron and glass, but he added an important change that made it possible to bring and deliver goods from the boats of merchants directly into the warehouses which are at the level of the canal. At the end of your visit, a short transfer will take you back to the ship.

-You should always take your SeaPass card (provided onboard the ship) and photo identification when in port.
-Camera and cash for shopping.

What to Wear:
-Comfortable walking shoes and light clothing are strongly recommended.
-Strict dress codes are enforced for religious sites and short pants, tank tops and revealing clothing are not acceptable. Shoulders and knees must be covered.
