Depart Split for Karst Sibenik region. Situated in Krka National Park, Krka Falls has 17 cascades. Krka River is unique due to gypsum formations. Next, see Skrandinski Buk Waterfalls. Above falls is large plateau that provides good views. See old mill. Note: Walking at Krka National Park is at guest's discretion during free time & over varying terrain, inclines & 100+ steps. Swimming is at guests' on risk as no lifeguard is on duty. Lunch not included but there is time for snack on your own. Tour not recommended for walkers or wheelchairs. If miss return coach, transportation back to ship is own responsibility & own expense. Drive from Split to Krka National Park is approx 1.25 hrs each way.
Depart by coach and leave the town of Split heading to the Karst Sibenik region to the famous Krka river waterfalls. Situated in the Krka National Park, the Krka falls has 17 natural cascades. The Krka River is a unique phenomenon due to its gypsum formations that have created the unique landscape of the falls. This entire area has been preserved in its original form. Next, see the extraordinary Skrandinski Buk Waterfalls, the highest falls in Europe. Above the falls is large plateau that affords spectacular views. A path wanders around the falls for those who wish to explore the falls further. Also, see the old mill that is still used for grinding.
Note: Walking at Krka National Park is at the guest's discretion during the free time and over the varying terrain, inclines and 100+ steps. Swimming is at the guests' on risk since no lifeguards are on duty. Sturdy walking shoes are recommended for the hike/walk portion of the tour. Lunch is not included in this tour; however, there is time for a snack on your own. You should have currency exchanged before leaving the ship. Due to the nature of this tour, it is not recommended for guests with walkers or wheelchairs. If guests should miss the return coach, transportation back to the vessel is their own responsibility and at their own expense. The drive between Split and Krka National Park is approximately 1.25 hours each way, dependent upon traffic conditions.
