Visit the State Apartments displaying magnificent baroque and rococo interiors, and still often being used for different functions. Continue with your guide for a walk along the narrow streets and experience the medieval intimacy of what is today a living historical monument of international renown. See the exterior of the Cathedral, the oldest church in Stockholm, see Stortorget, the Great Square, centre of the Old Town, dominated by the old Stock Exchange, today housing the Nobel (Prize) Museum and the Swedish Academy. Enjoy some free time for independent activities.

Finally enjoy some free time for independent activities. Visit the interior of the Cathedral for a quiet moment or just browse in the antique shops, art galleries or in the great variety of boutiques with handicrafts, souvenirs, clothes and much more.
Note: The tour of Old Town is by foot on cobblestone streets with approximately 1 mile of walking. The Royal Palace involves approximately 400 yards of walking with approximately 150 steps. The order of the tour may vary but all mentioned sights will be covered. In the event that the Royal Palace is closed due to a private function, a venue substitution will be made and will be announced on board the ship. Should the State Apartments be closed during your visit, either the Bernadotte or Guest Apartments will be substituted. Time permitting, guests will have approximately 45 minutes of free time for browsing and shopping in Old Town.
*For the September 1, 2012 sailing of the Brilliance of the Seas, the visit to the Royal Palace will be replaced with a visit to the Royal Armoury.
