On this tour you will see the main sights of Helsinki.
Helsinki is also called "the Daughter of the Baltic" or "the White City of the North".
You start your tour by passing the shipyard along the coastal road past Embassy Park and the colorful open-air market; continue on for a photo stop at the Senate Square with the elegant Lutheran Cathedral. En-route you will pass Uspenski Cathedral and our Icebreakers docked for the summer season.
Then on to Mannerheim Street, which is the main street through the city, where you can see the Parliament House, the National Museum and Finlandia Hall, which is our concert and convention center designed by the famous architect Alvar Aalto. You will also pass the new Contemporary Art museum, Kiasma, designed by the American architect Steven Holl.
Continuing on, you will pass our new Opera house completed in 1993 and then the Olympic Stadium venue for the Olympic Games in Helsinki in 1952.
The tour then takes you to Sibelius Park where you will make a photo stop of the monument of approximately 600 steel pipes, which honor the great Finnish composer Jean Sibelius.
Enjoy a sightseeing drive through the city before returning to the ship. Return to the pier.

Note: This tour is designed for those guests who are full time wheelchair users. Space permitting, we will try to accommodate guests with walking difficulties, those unable to handle steps or extended periods of walking or standing. The vehicle used on this excursion is adapted with an access ramp (or lift where available) to accommodate a limited number of wheelchairs. In order to use the ramp and/or lift, guests must be seated in a wheelchair or scooter. Due to liability issues, participants cannot stand on the ramp to be lifted into the vehicle.
