Scenic Drive & Blarney Village - CK02
Travel alongside River Lee to make way to city of Cork. Leaving bustle & traffic of Ireland's 2nd city, you'll see more of pastoral scenery as tour travels to Village of Blarney. Blarney has remained one of most legendary places in Ireland. You'll have time for stroll around village. You can browse in gift & craft shops or visit Blarney Woolen Mill. Tour does NOT visit Blarney Castle, but can be seen from a distance how it rises amidst clumps of trees. Following visit to Blarney Village, return to pier. Note: Walking at Blarney Village is at guest's discretion over even surfaces & steps. Tour is recommended for those who want leisurely drive with time for shopping.
You will travel alongside the wide expanse of the River Lee as it makes its way to the open sea, and where you'll enter the city of Cork, just past the wharves and jetties where small coastal steamers are busily handling cargoes. The river flows in two main channels, crossed by many bridges, so that central Cork is actually on an island.
Leaving the bustle and traffic of Ireland's second city, you'll soon see more of the delightful pastoral scenery as the excursion itinerary travels towards the Village of Blarney. Blarney has remained one of the most legendary places in Ireland, nestled in breathtaking scenery and rich in folklore, nostalgia, and legend.
You will have time to wander and stroll around the village, facing a broad expanse of Green and Parkland, which leads towards the Castle. You can browse amongst the array of small gift and craft shops or visit Blarney Woollen Mill, famous for its array of Irish sourced goods gathered together under the rambling roofs of the Old Mill.
This excursion will not visit Blarney Castle, but you will be able to see (from a distance) how it rises in its ancient splendor amidst clumps of trees. Following your visit to Blarney Village, you will return to the pier and your waiting vessel.
