Travel to Cork by coach along the shores of Cork Harbor. Upon arrival in the city, drive down Merchants Quay, St. Patrick's Street, Grand Parade and South Mall, where your guide will explain the history behind the French Quarter, English Market, Father Matthew's statue and Bishop Lucey Park. Continue past the impressive City Hall. Constructed from large limestone blocks, the City Hall was opened by President Eamon De Valera in 1936. The funds were provided by the British Government in reparation for the burning of the original City Hall by English Crown Forces in 1921 during the Irish War for Independence. There will be a photo stop at the magnificent St. Finbarr's Cathedral. St. Finbarr's was designed in mini-Gothic style by William Burgess and built on the site of St. Finbarr's original settlement. Continue along College Road and make a stop at the University College Cork. The buildings are styled after the Tudor Gothic period and you will have the opportunity to follow in the footsteps of many famous people when walking the university corridors and grounds. Before returning to Cobh, there will be a stop at a local hotel where you will be able to savor the mesmeric and much eulogized taste of a traditional Irish coffee.

Note: Guest must be able to walk approximately 200 yards over flat paved surfaces with 2 - 5 steps to enter/exit the coach. Comfortable walking shoes are recommended. This tour will operate in all weather conditions so participants should take appropriate weather gear with them. One beverage (Irish coffee) per person will be served at a local hotel at the direction of the guide. The drive to/from Cobh is approximately 45 minutes each way, dependent upon traffic conditions
