The aim of this tour is to discover from east to west, the many aspects of the port of Cherbourg, as well as the old town, its rich history and its principal monuments.

From the old passenger terminal now concerted into the "Cite de la Mer" but remaining the prestigious past of the city in the days of he great Transatlantic Liners, through the ports of trade, fishing the marina, our bus will take us around the bay hosting the largest manmade harbour in the world (1500 hectares) begun under the reign of Louis XVI;

On the way, we will also see the Abbaye du Voeu (1145) and the military naval base reminding us the important part played by Napoleon the Ist in Cherbourg's History, and most recently, that of the town after the D-Day.

By the way, you will relax in the delightful gardens of a "Renaissance" Chateau (Chateau des Ravalets) with water features, grottos, greenhouses and exotic plants now acclimatized, thanks to our gentle oceanic climate.

Our tour will end with a little walk from the Basilique de la Trinite through the narrow lanes of the now disappeared ancient fortress, just as far as the "Italian Style" theater.

After a free time to discover the pedestrian shopping,  rejoin the ship by bus.
