Snorkelers, get ready for the unique and rare opportunity to swim at the second longest barrier reef in the world. You’ll wade by a reef that is nearly the length of Belize! The shallow areas average about 20 feet with atolls that stretch 30 to 60 miles. Your boat will whisk you off to the reef passing picturesque low, mangrove-covered islands that surround the unspoiled area. You’ll stop at a beautiful private tropical island that sits atop of the reef. Upon your arrival, you’ll receive high-quality snorkeling gear and dive into the waters where more than 100 species of coral and as many as 500 species of fish reside. As you float in the warm waters along the reef, watch for bursts of nurse sharks, rays, and turtles. While here, you’ll likely see a variety of hard corals, gorgonians, sea fans, and tunicates. Once you’re done exploring the reef, take a break on the private island. You’ll have plenty of time to lay out, and sunbathe on the beach, or rest in the shade and dip your feet in the island’s soft sands.
