Board your coach at the port and begin your transfer to the impressive local Li minority village, located north-east of Sanya. During your drive to the village, you will get a chance to admire the enchanting Hainan countryside, passing by fields filled with water buffalos, green rolling hills and charming villages.
The Li people are the original inhabitants of the Island and have for centuries kept their own way of life and cultures.
This recreated village offers the ideal place to learn all about this ethnic group's fascinating traditions and practices. It features well preserved traditional boat-shaped cottages. Women of the village are masters at spinning, weaving and embroidering. They use very simple tools to create brocades with beautiful and intricate patterns which are famous throughout China. Li people are also skilled singers and dancers and they will gladly demonstrate those skills to you. Join them performing the original bamboo dance; watch them create local arts and crafts, try playing music with traditional instruments, listen to local legends and much more. Not only will you witness these performances but you will also get to try them yourself and become an integral part of the spectacle. Local snacks and drinks are available on site, some of which you will get a chance to sample and purchase if interested. Also, various excellent shopping venues are available where unique souvenirs can be purchased. This is truly an eye-opening visit and a great insight into the uniqueness of Hainan Island!
After the visit, your coach will transfer you to a Hainan local specialty shop where you will enjoy some free time shopping before returning to the ship.
Note: Guest's must be able to walk approximately 1 mile over flat and uneven surfaces with some steps.
