What made you decide to work on water?
|
|
|
I wanted to travel, but work at the same time. I love beauty and doing massages, and I didn't want to lose that. It was a good opportunity for me to travel and continue being a therapist.

Why Royal Caribbean?

The product is not specific to one age group. Working on a cruise ship is an intense experience that presents different challenges every day. Royal Caribbean really looks after their spa product and the Royal Caribbean brand is so well respected.

What do you love most about your job?
|
|
|
It's great when you can have so many guests come up to you and say that the spa facility was great. I enjoy the positive side of it, where you're getting all that feedback from the guests.

How do you relax after a stressful day?
|
|
|
I used to go out on the ship quite a bit, but of course that takes up sleep time, which is very important for me. Actually, the most relaxing part for me is going to the gym.

Is nature important and how do you incorporate it into the spa experience?
|
|
|
We've got a variety of different CDs, and the therapists tend to have their favorites. We have the "Sounds of Nature" CDs, which have relaxing sounds. We also often ask the guests what music they are into. At the end of the day it's a personal taste thing.

What do you think the next trend in the spa experience will be?
|
|
|
Teeth whitening is one of the fastest growing industries in the world. A lot of guests are surprised that they can get teeth whitening in the spa for cheaper than on land. The facial onboard used to be advertised as the HydraLift facial focusing on collagen, but people are moving away and going onto the next thing. When most of the guests see the spa menu, there is usually always something new on it for them.
