The One Thing You Don't Want to Miss

Since you'll be arriving by ship, it may be a good idea to hop a chopper and see how stunning the island is from the sky. Want a complete Bora Bora experience? Helicopter up to Mount Pahia and hike back down. Or if you're feeling up for the challenge you can hike up and hike down. Either way the views from atop of this magical mountain are otherworldly!

Other Fun Things to Do

Island by Le Truck

Onboard "Le Truck," pass the district of Fa'anui and make a short photo stop at Fa'anui Bay. Visit the ancient ceremonial site Fa'anui Marae to learn about the pareo, the traditional wrap around and sample exotic fruits. Make another photo stop at Taihi Point. At Mama Edna's place, try local food specialties, as well as purchase refreshments and local pareos. From a lookout point, see Mt. Otemanu. Pass by the Club Med Village before reaching Matira Beach and Bloody Mary's Restaurant.

Glass Bottom Boat

Journey across the lagoon and learn about the marine life from your guide. Enjoy views of Bora Bora above the waterline. Look through a glass window to see tropical fish. Before heading back to the pier, a crewmember will dive under the boat and feed schools of fish right before your eyes. A roof provides you with protection from the sun and eliminates glare.

Sporting Adventures

Break out the flippers and an underwater camera! It would be downright silly to come to an island like this and not sign-up for some underwater adventure. There are tons of snorkeling and scuba diving tours available. And if you'd prefer to explore on your own - dive in! You'll be greeted by many a manta ray and too many tropical fish to count.

Shopping for Bargains

The tiny harbor town of Vaitape is a great place to shop for t-shirts and trinkets and is only a short walk from the dock. If you're treasure hunting for black pearls, you'll find some for sale here or you can seek out the other shops around the island that specialize in the glamorous gemstone.

Get a Taste of Local Flavor

There are plenty of places to stop for a snack on Bora Bora and a few fine dining options as well. Fish and fruit are the stars here - you'll find them prepared with French flavors and Polynesian accents. If you're looking for a romantic dinner for two make sure to call ahead.
