Historical Island Splendour - SL44
A highlights tour of some of the significant historical sites in Castries and its vicinity from gun emplacements and military barracks, to fertile river valleys where sugar was once king and fishing villages that seem frozen in time.
Drive through the city of Castries up La Toc to Bagshaws Art Studio to view silk screen printing and lovely views. Your tour continues along the Millennium Highway down the Cul de Sac Valley through Roseau viewing banana plantations along the way before arriving in the rustic village of Anse la Raye. Here you will have an opportunity of walking along the waterfront of the village frozen in time before heading back up to Marigot Bay viewpoint. This is photo moment not to be missed of the tranquil bay before leaving for the Morne Complex where you will learn how the British defended the island against the French.
Drive pass the official residence of the Governor General then on to your final stop at St. Mark's - an old colonial style house - located on The Morne overlooking the city. Capture the panoramic views and also your cruise ship as a background amidst the blue sea.
