On this tour, you are driven along the riverfront towards the Belem area where you'll see the Monument to the Discoveries, erected in 1960 to mark the 500th anniversary of the death of Henry the Navigator and the famous Belem Tower, an elegant Manueline structure guarding the mouth of the Tagus River. Your first stop will be Jeronimos Monastery Church, founded by King Manuel, designed by the architect Boytac, and considered an architectural masterpiece. Continue to Baixa with its main squares Praca da Figueira and Rossio, the heart of Lisbon's downtown. Pass the Avenida da Liberdade at the end is the statue of Pombal, the man who sent rebuilt the city after the earthquake of 1755. View the principal gardens of Lisbon, named in honor of England's King Edward Vll, who came to Lisbon in 1902 to reaffirm the Anglo-Portuguese alliance. At the tour's conclusion, guests will be taken to the airport.

Note: Guests must be able to walk approximately 0.45 mile over even and cobblestone surfaces with approximately 40 steps.

Transit Port: Many guests utilize the port of Lisbon as a transit port, either boarding or leaving the ship before or after their cruise. To meet the needs and desires of those guests with a little extra time in Lisbon, Royal Caribbean International will be offering a limited tour program, which will be available to guests who fall into any of the following categories:

a) Guests with flights departing after 3:00 pm, the last day of the cruise.

If you meet any of the above criteria, you can participate in the tour listed above. You will be contacted by the on board Explorations! Staff to provide further details regarding your departing flight as you will need to be organized into the appropriate coaches. For more information, please contact the Explorations! Desk onboard the ship.
