You will enjoy the panoramic view of Chania and the surrounding area of the grave of El. Venizelos, the greatest Greek politician the first three decades of last century.  On the way to Chania, you’ll pass through Halepa Quarter where all the consulates of the great powers were located in beautiful neoclassical buildings. Your next stop is at the large central market of the city of Chania where you’ll walk through to see the local products. You’ll continue and see the four religion meeting points of the Orthodox Cathedral-Catholic Church, Synagogue, which is the oldest in Greece from 1575 and the Mosque of Kutsuk Hassan.  Your final visit is at the Archeological Museum of Chania that is located in one of the finest Venetian structures and considered to be as one of the ten most beautiful museums in the world, according to New York Times. The old town is full of Venetia and Ottoman structures, arsenals, fortresses, and loggia churches. Chania enjoys the reputation of being the Venice of the East.

Note:  Guests must be able to walk approximately 2 miles over varying terrain and surfaces with some steps and inclines. Comfortable, non-slip walking shoes are recommended. If guests should miss the return bus, transportation back to the vessel is their own responsibility and at their own expense. The drive from Souda Port to the Venizelos Graves is approximately 20 minutes and the return drive from town is roughly 30 minutes, dependent upon traffic conditions.  The shopping hours and closure dates should be reviewed in the introduction section of Chania, Greece.
