Scenic St. George Tour - BKD3

Explore an official UNESCO World Heritage Site and the original capital city of the islands of Bermuda. See Sir George Somers' statue, the Admiral of the Sea Venture, who along with the early Colonists settled the 'Ol Towne of St. Georges. The Islands of St. Georges and St. David are the historic heartland of the colony. Entry into old Forts and the oldest Anglican Church of the Western Hemisphere included. Round-trip Ferry fare is included Tour is operated in 6 seat mini-vans and is a 2.5 hour duration. Transfer time on the public ferry from ship in Dockyard to St. Georges is an additional 45 minutes in each direction.

Overview: Explore some of Bermuda's most celebrated British-Colonial landmarks on this narrated tour. In the World Heritage Site of St. George's, step back in time as you stroll through the dark, narrow passageways of Bermuda's oldest fort, and admire the simple architecture of Anglican St. Peter's Church. On the island of St. David, stop to take photographs at the site of the imposing St. David's Lighthouse, whose light beam penetrates 20 miles out to sea.
Highlights: St. George's Island: Visit the first colonial fortification established in the New World, and original capital of the Bermuda islands. St. Peter's Church: Pause to appreciate the significance of the oldest continuously-used Anglican Church site in the western hemisphere.
