During the drive, your guide will speak about the different sites of the battle of Normandy starting with the building of artificial ports, air raids to paralyse the French railway and then the first week of the landing on 6 june 1944.

Caen Memorial erected by the City, which in 1944 was at the centre of the Battle of Normandy, takes the form of a "Museum for peace". It is primarily a place of commemoration and of permanent meditation on the links between human rights and the maintenance of peace. You will have 40 minutes free time in the museum before to have a movie show, then again 45 minutes free time. All along your visit, you will discover the main events of the Second World War, the causes and the issues at stake, are presented in the light of the latest historical analysis. A particularly imaginative display, centred on a spiral ramp, on such themes as the inter-war years and the advance of Fascism; the use of extensive archive material, including a gripping panoramic projection of D-DAY , seen simultaneously from the Allied and the German Standpoint, as well as moving testimonies by witnesses of and participants in the drama, confers on this presentation of our recent past the authenticity of living experience.

After your visit, you will join the lunch buffet inside the Museum.

After lunch, you will join the American Cementery. You will drive through one of the Normand landscape called Peninsula of Cotentin. You will visit the American Cemetery of Coleville located near Omaha Beach in the village of Saint Laurent. In the cemetery, you will see the American Memorial and grounds of the cemetery dedicated to those soldiers who fought and died on the beaches. Then you will have a stop on one of the American landing Beaches "Omaha Beach" call also the "Red Beache" due to the high number of killed soldiers.

Your last stop will be Sainte Mere L'Eglise, famous for the church. The church was damaged during the dislodging of German snipers from the belfry. A dummy at the end of a parachute hangs from the steeple as a reminder of private Steele's alarming experience. Then you will drive back to the ship.

Note: Guests must be able to walk approximately 1.5 hours over even surfaces, loose gravel and 10 - 15 steps. Steps are not required to enter the venues listed. The tour sequence may vary due to traffic conditions and timing.
