Discover the Magnificent Balleroy Castle built in the XVII century, actually owned by the American family of Malcom Forbes. You can admire inside the Chateau among other things, the Mansart's revolutionary cantilevered staircase, the dining room with an oak parquet floor "ą la Versailles" and the English style library. During your free time you could visit on your own the museum of hot-air balloons housed in a converted stable.

To visit Balleroy Castle, your coach will drive in the Normandy countryside passing through the Contentin area before to arrive in the Bessin area.

Balleroy castle was built in the XVII century by the famous architect Francois Mansart.for Jean de Choisy. De Choisy's descendants, the Marquis de Balleroy have owned the Chateau for 3 centuries. It is now owned by the family of Malcom Forbes, the American publisher and aeronaut, who bought it in 1970.

You can admire inside the Chateau among other things, the Mansart's revolutionary cantilevered staircase, the dining room with an oak parquet floor "à la Versailles" and the English style library.

During your free time you could visit on your own the museum of hot-air balloons housed in a converted stable. In his lifetime, Malcom Forbes collected paintings, miniatures, artefacts and documents related to the history of ballooning from the time of the Montgolfiers to the present.

Note: Guests must be able to walk approximately 1.5 miles over uneven surfaces with 40 to 50 steps. Comfortable walking shoes are recommended. Time permitting; guests will have approximately 30 minutes for browsing and shopping at the castle. Tour order may vary between groups but always covering the mentioned sites.
