Departing from the port, your coach will proceed with a panoramic drive along Columbus monument and the bottom of the famous promenade of La Rambla which connects the port with Cataluña Square, considered the heart of the city. From there, you will continue the panoramic drive along Passeig de Gracia, the best-known boulevard in town. Your guide will point out one of the masterpieces of Gaudi's architecture, the Casa Milà or known by Barcelonans as "La Pedrera House" and Casa Batllo. Once the coach reaches Diagonal Avenue, you will enter the upper Eixample area where the Sagrada Familia Temple is located. From the exterior, guides will provide an explanation of the relevant details of the Temple. Once finished, continue to Montjuich Hill, which was claimed by the city on the occasion of the 1929 International Exposition, when the mountain was developed and trade fair halls and sports installations were constructed as well as the parks and gardens which are to be found all over the mountain. Today it is the most important recreational area in Barcelona. You will pass through the Olympic Ring before making a brief stop at the Mirador del Alcalde for panoramic photos before returning to the ship.
Note: Guests must be able to walk approximately 0.25 mile over even and cobblestone surfaces. Time permitting; guests will have approximately 15 minutes for shopping at Sagrada Familia. There are no interior visits on this tour.
This tour is designed for those guests who are full time wheelchair users. Space permitting, we will try to accommodate guests with walking difficulties, those unable to handle steps or extended periods of walking or standing. The vehicle used on this excursion is adapted with an access ramp (or lift where available) to accommodate a limited number of wheelchairs. In order to use the ramp and/or lift, guests must be seated in a wheelchair or scooter. Due to liability issues, participants cannot stand on the ramp to be lifted into the vehicle.
