Overview:
This is an escorted transfer to one of the major touristic landmarks of the French Riviera, Monaco. You will have approximately 4 hours of free time in Old Monaco for independent exploring.
This tour does not stop in Monte Carlo and its Casino square. Lunch is not included,.

Highlights:
- 4  hours of Free Time in  Old Town of Monaco (“the Rock”).
- 2 hours of Free Time in Old Town of Monaco
- Enjoy a scenic drive along the coast of the French Riviera.

Full Description:
For those guests who have already visited the French Riviera before, this is an excellent opportunity to experience the area of Monaco independently.

After a scenic drive via the Middle Corniche road passing by Eze, you will arrive in Monaco, the second smallest city-state in the world. The historical part of Monaco sits on a hill called "the Rock" where the old town and the Neo-Romanesque Cathedral are located. You will have time to explore the principality's Old Quarter filled with small cobblestone streets and souvenir shops. While in Monaco you may choose to visit Palace Square or the Prince's Palace, both constructed in the early 17th century, or the renowned Oceanographic Museum and Aquarium. There are many snacks and small restaurants around in both Nice and Monaco for you to make your own arrangements for lunch.

The return drive from Monaco to Villefranche will be made on the scenic Lower Corniche along the coast, passing by the pine-studded peninsula of St-Jean Cap Ferrat and Beaulieu.

What to Bring:
- You should always take your SeaPass card (provided onboard the ship) and photo identification when in port
- Camera, cash for shopping (most major stores accept Euros and credit cards)
- Sun protection, sunglasses, and bottled water as it can be quite warm/sunny in the French Riviera.
- Please note you may be required to check large bags, backpacks, video cameras and/or personal water bottles at designated check points.

What to Wear:
- Strongly recommend wearing comfortable walking shoes.

Important Notes:
- This tour being an “On Your Own”, walking in Monaco is mostly at guests' discretion. However, please note that in Monaco, guide takes guests from underground bus parking to the top of the Rock and gives meeting time in front of the Oceanographic museum. Old Monaco is not easily wheelchair accessible.
- A stop in Monte Carlo (and its Casino Square) is not included in this tour. Guests wanting to go there during the free time allotted in Monaco are welcome to ask the guide about how to get there using local public transportation, but they are entirely responsible for making it back on time for the appointed meeting time before the drive back to Villefranche.
- The order of the tour may be reversed or altered depending on traffic or local conditions.
- Access to the Principality of Monaco for coaches is very strictly regulated and limited during most of the month of May due to the Grand Prix being held in town (Formula 1 Grand Prix on Sunday May 26th, 2013; with trials the whole week prior). As a result no tour to Monaco can be operated from May 23rd until May 27th included, as tour buses are not allowed there. Prior to that, tours to Monaco can normally be operated but guests must take a public bus shuttle service operated by the Principality. All guests should be aware that there are high risks of large crowds, long waiting time standing up, and slow traffic at that particular very special time.
