This tour will be conducted with a Spanish-speaking tour guide and is intended for Spanish-speaking guests. Enjoy the beauty of the Eternal City during a narrated drive that takes in some of the most impressive and famous monuments in Rome. This tour is designed for guests who prefer little walking.
-Photo opportunities from the coach include: Aurelian Walls, Circus Maximus, Colosseum, Roman Forum, Arch of Constantine, Venice Square, Via Veneto, Villa Borghese, St. Angel Castle, and Vatican walls.
-St. Peter’s Square: Enjoy 45 minutes free time
Those who prefer a less strenuous adventure, with little walking, can still realize their dream of seeing one of the world’s most historical metropolitan areas. You’ll enjoy a taste of Rome, beginning with a 90 minute drive, passing through the Etruscan countryside, with pleasant views of the Tyrrenian Sea. Once in Rome, pass by the Vatican walls, surrounding Vatican City, and the areas of Lungotevere and Ara Pacis. You will proceed towards the old Roman walls and the famous Villa Borghese, through Porta Pinciana and into the old town. You will see Via Veneto, the symbol of the Italian dolce vita, Piazza Venezia, the Colosseum, the Arch of Constantine, and Circus Maximus. You will arrive at the St. Peter’s Basilica area where you will have approximately 45 minutes of free time to stroll around the famous St. Peter’s Square, or, time permitting, to independently explore the largest basilica in the world. At the appointed time, return to the meeting place and follow your guide to your coach for the return drive to your ship During the bus ride to Rome, you will be provided with a map of Rome and emergency contact numbers in the unlikely event you become separated from the group. During the excursion you will receive also bottled water.

-Camera and cash for shopping
What to Wear:
-Comfortable walking shoes are strongly recommended.
-If you plan to visit St. Peter's Basilica, please note that strict dress codes are enforced. Short pants, tank tops and revealing clothing are not acceptable.
Affected sailings as follows:
-The drive between Civitavecchia and Rome is approximately 1 1/2 hours each way, subject to traffic conditions.
-Guests must be able to walk approximately 0.5 mile over uneven surfaces with few steps between St. Peter’s Square and the coach drop-off/pick-up point. -This tour is designed for those guests who have walking difficulties, are not able to handle steps or extended periods of walking or standing.
– Guests must be able to negotiate the steps of the coach
-Guests needing special assistance must be accompanied by an able bodied companion.
-Guests are advised that long queues to enter St. Peter’s Basilica are to be expected.
-Guests may be required to check large bags, backpacks, video cameras, and/or personal water bottles at designated checkpoints.
-Should a mass be taking place in St. Peter's Basilica, the entrance may be restricted.
-Depending upon the number of people in the Basilica, it may be closed for security reasons. These safety precautions are beyond the control of the local tour operator.
-The order of the tour may be reversed or altered depending on traffic or local conditions.
-On Sundays and public holidays, the majority of the shops will be closed and only souvenir shops will be open.
