Overview:
You'll go to both landmarks of the Principality of Monaco, Old Monaco and Monte Carlo. In Monaco (the Rock) you'll enjoy a guided walking tour of the old town and some free time to explore its colorful arched streets. In Montecarlo you'll see the outside of the world famous Grand Casino and get free time to explore the area on your own. The drive from Villefranche is made via the very scenic Lower Corniche and Middle Corniche roads along the coast.

Highlights:
- Visit Old Town of Monaco “the Rock” including Prince’s Palace Square (entrance fees not included).
- Visit MonteCarlo and its famous Casino Square (entrance fees not included).
- Enjoy a scenic drive along the coast of the French Riviera.

Full Description:
Discover the paradise of the world famous Principality of Monaco. From Villefranche, you will drive along the Middle Corniche Road, viewing the pine-studded peninsula of St-Jean Cap Ferrat and the medieval village of Eze.

You'll visit the Rock of Monaco, where your guide will escort you on foot through the Old Quarter. Here you'll explore the vaulted passageways, see the outside façade of the Prince's Palace and stroll through the Palace Square. You'll also visit the 19th century Monaco Romanesque Cathedral, final resting place of the Princess of Monaco, Grace Kelly. Leaving Monaco, your coach will travel along a portion of the Grand Prix Motor circuit to Monte Carlo.

Arriving at Place du Casino after a necessary uphill walk from the underground bus parking, you will have approximately 1 hour to explore this landmark and surrounding area. Entrance to the Grand Casino (which only opens in the afternoon) is not included in this tour. Those wishing to visit the inside of the Grand Casino (only when this tour is operated in the afternoon) and quickly try their luck may do so on their own during that time (entrance fees 10 Euros not included, requesting 18 years of age, proper dress code and a valid picture id)

Your return drive to Villefranche will be via the Lower Corniche Road. From here a spectacular panorama of Beaulieu, Villefranche and Nice unfolds before your eyes.

What to Bring:
- You should always take your SeaPass card (provided onboard the ship) and photo identification when in port
- Camera, cash for shopping (most major stores accept Euros and credit cards)
- Sun protection, sunglasses, and bottled water as it can be quite warm/sunny in the French Riviera.
- Please note you may be required to check large bags, backpacks, video cameras and/or personal water bottles at designated check points.

What to Wear:
- Strongly recommend wearing comfortable walking shoes.

Important Notes:
- This tour includes very extensive walking - Approx. 1/2 mile of walking on low incline and cobblestone streets in Monaco with 5-10 steps after taking escalators and elevator from bus parking. Approx. 1 1/4 mile walking uphill on narrow sidewalk and strong incline with 95 steps to reach Casino square in Monte Carlo, with 10-15 steps more to get into the Grand Casino. Old Monaco is not easily wheelchair accessible, Monte Carlo practically not at all. Guests may remain at a square located at the bottom of the hill (Japanese gardens nearby) if unable to take the hike to Casino square. Bus parkings in both Monaco and Montecarlo are located underground and guests cannot stay in the bus during the visits.
- Should the Cathedral of Monaco have a special event or mass service, guides will give an outside explanation only and you will then enter on your own. Depending upon the number of people in the Cathedral, it may be closed for security reasons.
- The Casino is only open in the afternoon, and guests wanting to go visit it on their own (if timing of tour allows it during free time) must be over 18 years of age, properly dressed, and carry with them a valid picture ID if they want to gamble.
- Video and photography are not permitted at any time in the Grand Casino.
- The order of the tour may be reversed or altered depending on traffic or local conditions.
- Access to the Principality of Monaco for coaches is very strictly regulated and limited during most of the month of May due to the two Grand Prix being held in town (in 2012 Historical Grand Prix race on Sunday May 13th and Formula 1 Grand Prix on Sunday May 28th, .with trials the whole week prior). As a result no tour to Monaco can be operated from May 6th till May 13th, and from May 21st till May 28th included, as tour buses are not allowed there. From May 14th till May 20th, only Old Monaco is accessible to coaches, and not MonteCarlo : on that week tours can be operated but guests must be aware that a public bus shuttle service is necessary to go from Monaco to MonteCarlo and back. Royal Caribbean International is taking charge of the extra expense involved, but can unfortunately not control the frequency or travel duration of that shuttle service which depends entirely from the Monaco public transportation services at the orders of the Prince’s government. Guests must be aware that there are high risks of large crowds, long waiting time standing up, and slow traffic at that particular very special time.
