North Island - SZ15

Visit the biggest forest in the Canary Islands, Los Tilos, and the charming village of Los Sauces. The tour takes you to the oldest part of the island and its lush vegetation. From Santa Cruz de La Palma you will go to the viewpoint "Mirador de La Galga", situated right on the edge of two deep cut gorges. Then go to the north to the evergreen forest Los Tilos, declared a Biosphere Reserve by the Unesco, where we will find many indigenous plants of the island. Continuing on to the attractive little town of Los Sauces, where an aperitif will be served in a local restaurant. go down to the coast through banana plantations visiting the small town of San Andres before arriving back to the pier.

Overview: Explore the laurel forests and rich, moist vegetation of Los Tilos, and visit the neighboring towns of Los Sauces and San Andres. Starting with panoramic views from Mirador de la Galga, you'll travel to Los Tilos, where enchanting giant ferns and natural waterfalls abound, set among holly trees, heather, strawberry trees and Canarian bellflowers. Stop for an aperitif in Los Sauces, and drive past banana plantations on your way to San Andres.
Highlights: Los Tilos: Explore the rainforest-like beauty in one of Europe's most important laurel populations, a Unesco Biosphere Reserve. Los Sauces: Visit lovely village squares and learn about the Catalan influence in this town bordering laurel-forested Los Tilos. San Andres: Set between lapis waters and green mountains, this historic village has cobblestoned streets and a 16th century church.

Important Notes: Guests in wheelchairs and others with mobility challenges should not select this tour. Guests who suffer from vertigo, heart diseases, and/or high blood pressure should not select this tour. Guests prone to motion sickness should take precautions. Consider physical fitness and medical history when selecting tour. Guests must be able to walk approximately one-quarter mile over uneven gravel and dirt terrain, with inclines and 10 to 20 steps. Guests will encounter additional steps and uneven surfaces at banana plantation and a steep uphill walk to Visitor Center (both optional). Tour sequence may vary.
