Full Description:
Your tour begins with a drive into the mountains in Esporles, where you will begin your hiking adventure. You’ll join your hiking guide for a trek along the historic 15th century Royal Path that used to join the villages of Banyalbufar and Esporles. Documented sources date this path back to the 15th century and they relate it with the uses that were made with it, such as the transport of fish from the coast to the inner lands by the monks of the Cister Order. Others believe the actual name of this path refers to the ordinary post that was placed here by King James III in the 14th century.
On your hiking trail, you’ll pass through an evergreen oak forest which offers an interesting view of a variety of traditional architectural elements like dry stone walls, huts, lime, and coal ovens. After the Font de la Vila, you’ll notice the landscape changes completely to many dry stone terraces and outdoor water tanks that can be seen right down to Banyalbufar. At the end of your tour, you’ll rejoin the coach for the return drive to the ship.
