Take advantage of this opportunity to experience the beauty and grandeur of Norway's unsurpassed vistas and snow-capped mountains along with a visit to the quaint Village of Laerdal.

From the pier in Flam, your coach will drive along the magnificent fjord to Aurland, a village rich in traditions and history, as represented by the 13th century Gothic style church. Proceed on a 20-minute drive through the longest road tunnel in the world. At the other end of the tunnel, you will find the village of Laerdal. This old village center consists of 161 protected buildings dating back to the 18th Century. Environments such as this are now rare in Western Norway.

Laerdal is known for its Salmon fishing and the Laerdal River is called "Queen of the Salmon Rivers" throughout Norway. You'll visit the Wild Salmon Center located on the banks of the Laerdal River and see how salmon ladders are built which enable salmon to climb up river. You will also see a 20-minute audio/visual presentation on the life cycle of Atlantic salmon, giving you insight into the management and exploitation of the wild salmon stocks in Norway. A visit will also be made to one of Norway's most beautiful and well-preserved Stave Churches - the Borgund Stave Church, dating back to 1150 AD.

Refreshment will be served either at the Salmon Centre or at Borgund Stave Church Visitor Centre.

Your return trip to Flam will take you across the mountains via the old snow road. This will take you high up into the mountains affording you spectacular panoramic views and a guarantee that you will see snow. There will be several stops along the way for photos.

Note: Guests must be able to walk approximately 0.25 mile over even and gravel surfaces with a few steps. Due to the high altitude of this tour, it is advisable to dress warm and bring along a jacket or a sweater. Time permitting; guests will have approximately 15 minutes for browsing and shopping. The return drive from Laerdal Village is approximately 2 hours, dependent upon traffic conditions.
