One of the most important events that marked its cultural and economic history was being elected for the organization of the 1992 Olympic Games. Then enjoy a relaxing walking into the Gothic Quarter where the remains of the Roman City survive here alongside Medieval Buildings, witnesses to a splendid past and where the Catalan monarchy held its court for five hundred years. Its historic center is the Plaça del Rei. An infinite variety of history and art is ever present in the array of cobbled streets which always offer a changing and enriching vision of its many corners.
Once finished you will proceed to Montjuich Hill, Montuich was claimed by the city on the occasion of the 1929 International Exposition, when the mountain was developed and trade fair halls and sports installations were constructed as well as the parks and gardens which are to be found all over the mountain.
