Listed in the Domesday Book, this castle has been a Norman strong-hold, a royal residence to six of England's medieval Queens, a playground and palace to Henry VIII and a private home. Today, lovingly restored, it is home to a magnificent collection of medieval furnishings, paintings, tapestries and treasures. This is where visitors of the present meet with lives of the past. On arrival at Leeds Castle there is a walk along a flat path which follows a meandering stream through a belt of stately trees. A series of small lakes are the natural habitat for a fine collection of unusual and exotic waterfowl.
Transfer to Canterbury, England's most famous cathedral city, which has a tradition of visitor welcome that reaches back to the days of medieval pilgrimages. Following your visit to Canterbury, continue with a leisurely afternoon drive which takes you on a tour of an area whose appeal lies in the diversity and quality of its scenery and in the historic character of its many delightful hamlets and villages.

Time permitting; guests will have approximately 2 hours for shopping and browsing between time at Leeds Castle and Canterbury City center. If guests should miss the return coach, transportation back to the vessel is their own responsibility and at their own expense. The drive between Dover and Leeds Castle is approximately 45 minutes and the return drive from Canterbury to the ship is approximately 90 minutes, dependent upon traffic conditions.Itinerary may operate in reverse.
