Full Description:
You'll drive along the outskirts of town as your mini-bus takes you to the cable car station. You'll enjoy panoramic views of Gibraltar Town, the port, and the Rock of Gibraltar from the cable car as it climbs the 1,400 feet (420 m) to the peak.

Your walking tour begins at the top of the Rock of Gibraltar as your guide escorts you down the narrow roadways. Along the way, you'll be able to peek over the Rock for a view of the huge water catchment area and Catalan Bay before following a wooded path downward towards St. Michael's Cave.

St. Michael's Cave dates back to prehistoric times as it was inhabited by dwellers from the Stone Age. You can explore its stalagmite and stalactite formations as you listen to the classical music made more appealing due to the cave’s acoustical qualities. At the Upper Galleries, you will learn how critical the Rock was as a British outpost protecting the entrance to the Mediterranean. Your guide will escort you through a network of tunnels, which were hollowed by British troops. From the tunnelsm you can see the many posts that were used to fire weapons upon advancing ships. Today, the tunnels and viewpoints offer interesting photo opportunities for visitors.

You’ll proceed to Apes’ Den, home to Gibraltar’s famous Barbary apes, for a photo opportunity. Your guide will tell of the legend surrounding these curious and sometimes mischievous primates. Keep your possessions close, as they have a penchant for handbags and cameras. You'll also see the walls and bastions of the Tower of Homage at the Moorish Castle before traveling down the winding streets of the Upper Rock. At the end of your tour, you will have the option to return to the ship or stay in town to take advantage of the duty free shops and make your own way back to the ship.

What to Bring:
-You should always take your SeaPass card (provided onboard the ship) and photo identification when in port.
-Camera and cash for shopping.

What to Wear:
-Light clothing and comfortable walking shoes are strongly recommended.

Important Notes:
-Guests must be able to walk approximately 1.5 miles over even surfaces with various inclines with approximately 60 to 70 steps.
-It is suggested that you do not approach, touch or feed the Barbary Apes.
